Sparkler Sparkler is a quiet visual poem. Cigarettes are adult sparklers. I think this work plays with what we thought we would be. Our joyous hopes as children when we claimed our names in fire and air and the adult identity tries to name what those hopes are now cloaked in. The burning cigarette becomes a metaphor for that passage from child to adult. |
